Lead Abatement for Shooting Ranges

Lead decontamination of ranges and the spaces around them, done safely and disposed of properly.

Lead abatement work inside a shooting range

What lead abatement involves

Lead from spent ammunition settles on every surface of a range and can travel into ductwork, offices and neighbouring areas. Abatement removes that contamination so the space is safe to use, renovate or repurpose.

  • HEPA vacuuming and wet-wiping of surfaces, baffles and equipment
  • Removal of contaminated materials
  • Strict contamination control and full PPE (respirators, boot covers, gloves and Tyvek suits)
  • Registration of the site with the appropriate environmental authority
  • Disposal of all contaminated material through registered companies

Abatement as part of a bigger project

Lead abatement often comes with demolition or a rebuild. Because PTA does both, plus contaminated waste removal, you deal with one company from the first wall coming down to the last drum leaving site.

Not sure where to start?

Call Peter to talk it through. Most projects begin with an on-site inspection so we can see the range before recommending anything.
